How to Use Mobile Deposit

Mobile deposit is one of the most exciting features of our mobile banking app. Available for iPhone®, iPad®, iPod touch® 4G and for Android™ mobile phones, mobile deposit allows you take a picture of a check and deposit it without making a trip to the credit union. Our members have voiced their enthusiasm for this service as the volume of checks that we process remotely increases every month.

For those new to the service or considering giving it a try, there are a few things you should know before you get started. Mobile deposit is available to all members after 30 days providing your account is active, in good standing and we have a current e-mail and mailing address on file. To sign up, login to your Triangle Mobile Banking App select Deposit Checks and follow the prompts or you can sign up via Online Banking. Once logged in, click on the Additional Services tab, and then click Check Deposit & Check Re-Order. Scroll to Remote Deposit and click Enter. Review and accept the Remote Deposit End User Agreement. Complete the registration and click Submit. Whether you sign up via the app or online banking, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail within 2-3 business days.

Once you’re signed up, you’ll want to get started making deposits. Here’s how. First, login into your Triangle Mobile Banking App and select Deposit Checks. Then, select an account that you would like to deposit to. Enter the amount of the check. Then, follow the prompts to snap a photo of each side. Be sure that you are in good light and make sure the picture of the check fills the screen. It may take a couple of tries to get it right, but after a couple of deposits you’ll be a pro. Importantly, be sure to endorse your check with “for mobile deposit.” An incorrect endorsement can result in the deposit being rejected. See example of correct endorsement to the right.

Your deposit is then subject to review by the Credit Union. No holds will be placed on those deposits that are accepted. Deposits are posted to your account by the end of the business day following the date of deposit.
