Wendy’s Data Breach: Information for Triangle MembersComment July 13, 2016 by Triangle Credit Union
You may be aware that Wendy’s® fast food restaurants reported a data breach, identifying malware collection of customer data including, but not limited to, cardholder name and card number.
In a preliminary report, Triangle was notified of over 5,000 affected cards within our membership which were used for purchases at Wendy’s during the time frame of the breach. Triangle is taking proactive steps to ensure the security of our member data and has reached out to affected members with plans to close the identified cards, some of which had confirmed unauthorized activity.
Triangle requests that our members review their transaction history through online or mobile banking and report any suspicious activity. If you are a Better Checking member, we would like to encourage you to register for ID Protect and add eligible family members and credit account information.
More information regarding the Wendy’s Data Breach can be found at their website, including a recent update from their President and CEO, Todd Penegor, available here.
